I gave this same comments directly to the Grand Hotel when they also asked for feedback:
1) despite the high nightly rates, the cost DOES NOT include the spa or buffet breakfast. Both these are highlighed prominently by the hotel, but I’m sure others like me will presume they are included. Not only are they not included, but they are a lot of money extra per day each.
2) some rooms are described as ‘courtyard or side street’. The courtyard is tiny so Inthink there is a 90% chance of getting the side street. This side street still has quite a bit of traffic, so may not be the quiet room you are anticipating. The other side of the street is an office block and the workers can see directly into your room, although net curtains are provided.
3) staff were very helpful, the hotel is spotless and in a great location.
4) We had previously stayed in a Marriott in Croatia which included buffet breakfast and spa, so it was our fault we didn’t navigate far enough into this hotel’s website to learn that these were extras at the Grand. We just assumed incorrectly that the daily rate covered them at this premium standard of hotel.
