Room was much better than I expected. It’s been updated recently. Carpet in rooms is still dated. Unfortunately the bar was closed for renovations so we couldn’t experience the full value of staying over a pub. We were notified ahead of time.

Nothing we didn't like. Would return at the drop of a hat if in the area.

Nice surprise as got croissants juice and biscuits in room. Room was adequate as above the bar. Nice friendly staff willing to help. Room could have been decorated to a better standard.

Was only there for 1 night and I was given room 1 looking onto main fenkle street where my scooter was it was great bed was comfy room clean bathroom was good

central for shops, pubs etc close to church for the wedding we were out

Quiet accommodation for good rest after a sports event I spent two nights in The Tavern in Alnwick to participate in a marathon race. The accommodation is in the centre of the town, on top of a pub, but it was very quiet, even though it was a weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful. Despite arriving late on a Friday evening, and the kitchen was about to close, they still prepared something for dinner for me, which was much appreciated after my long journey. My room (plus a separate bathroom) was small but had everything I needed – including a fridge with water and juices, a kettle, instant coffee, tea and biscuits. The bed was comfy enough for one person with lots of pillows.

Lovely warm friendly greeting from staff. The room was clean and spacious. Nothing fancy, just exactly what you would expect

The carpets were dirty and smelt of dogs & cannabis in the stairways. The whole place was very tired and worn. Room rate was very overpriced it a handy location. A Mini fridge was in the middle of the floor in front of the sink which wasn’t even plugged in. The food is usually good in the bar though.
