From the moment we arrived, Cafe & Stay Castana exceeded every expectation. The location is simply unbeatable — walking distance to everything the city has to offer, yet tucked away enough to feel like a true local stay rather than a tourist hotel. The property itself is beautifully comfortable: thoughtfully designed, immaculately kept, and full of the kind of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. We loved the cafe vibe and the little touches throughout. But what truly sets Castana apart are the hosts. They went so far out of their way to make our family feel welcome that it’s hard to put into words — the kind of genuine, heartfelt hospitality that you don’t forget. Every small detail was considered, every question answered with care and a smile. We came as guests and left feeling like we’d made friends. If you’re spending time in Matsumoto, don’t hesitate — the place is a hidden gem!

2家族7人で利用しました。 カフェに泊まっているようでとてもおしゃれです。 隣がツルヤなので、買い出しをしてのんびり過ごすことができます。 施設は掃除もきちんとされておりとても清潔感がありました。 食器コップもきれいでした。 シャワーが一つしかないのは残念ですが、近くの日帰り温泉も紹介してくださいました。 スタッフの方もやさしく丁寧に対応してくださいました。 子どもも大満足でまた行きたーいと思う施設でした。

Cool space inside a café. Lovely staff to welcome and fairness us. Great supermarket over the road and short walk to awesome cherry blossom area.

家族5人で宿泊しました。もともとカフェだったところが宿泊施設になったということで、リアルカフェ体験ができました。 小学生の姪は、日頃からカフェのスタッフごっこをして遊んでいますが、まさにここではリアルカフェ体験ができます。 観光には行かずに、お隣のスーパーツルヤで買い物をして、カフェ屋さん風に食事を設えました。コーヒーやジュースも姪がその都度作ってくれて、飲み放題でした。 いろいろなジャンルの雑誌も置いてあり、ゆったり気持ちよく過ごせました。 姪はまた来年も来たいと言っています。

The room is extremely nice,you can use the coffee machine free.And the living area is also nice and comfortable.There are two toilets,so you won't smell the shi# when showering.It is close to the supermarket ,very convenient. P.S. The landlord is also friendly.

Grocery store across the street was convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Had a great stay.

This hotel is an absolute gem. It is clean, quiet, and well located. The proprietor went above and beyond anything we could have imagined in order to ensure that we not only were able to use the GoTo Travel campaign at his hotel, but also at every other hotel during our week long road trip. His kindness helped save us an additional $1,000 on total hotel lodging costs. Cannot recommend him or the place highly enough.

Lovely cafe and room. Owner is very kind and speaks English very well. Quiet and comfortable with anything you need. Perfect for seeing the delightful city of Motsumoto.

Lovely stay in Matsumoto. Staff is amazing, Kaneda gave us several lifts to and from town, and the cafe was so nice too!

It was very clean and the owner was very friendly and understood English
