Saser Scenic Pangong

We had booked a stay through expedia for one night, July 9 -10, 2026. Upon reaching the property on the evening of July 9th, we found that the property was not completely constructed, the furniture was not polished, there was cement on the tiles, the tiles were not completely placed, unfinished plywood boards were placed to divide the rooms and bathroom, there was no water in the washroom, no flush, no tap over the sink basin, the tiles were not completely laid in the bathroom, etc. The stay was simply uninhabitable. We immediately complained and found a different stay at Pangong Manor. We also learnt that we were the fifth group of people moving from Saser Scenic to Pangong Manor that same evening. Locals informed us that the place used to be called "the Meraki Lodge" before, and the owner changed the name due to several complaints and property getting seized by authorities. We called the owner to complain about the property and request a refund, the owner was extremely rude and claimed that he is not associated with Expedia and that he never received our booking. When we asked why he gave us two rooms, he cut the call and did not pick up calls from us or the Expedia agents. He also seems to have cancelled his listing on Expedia and closed his website. The locals warned us that this is a recurring issue with this property and that the owner keeps changing the name and scamming customers this way.
