Our recent start of the honeymoon at The Royal Santrian offered both highlights and significant drawbacks. Our villa was absolutely lovely – beautifully decorated, spacious, and wonderfully private, with a fantastic private pool. The general setting of the resort, including the main pool and restaurant, was also very pleasant. The staff was friendly and readily available.
However, the beach was a major disappointment. Despite being beachfront, it was essentially unusable, squeezed between noisy and smelly water sports operators. Even worse, the sea itself was visibly polluted with plastic and rubbish. We felt the true condition of the beach should have been made clear beforehand.
Food at the main restaurant was largely tasteless and below standard for our liking. The one exception was the romantic dinner on the beach, which was a completely different and excellent culinary experience – highly recommended!
