Hotel is rundown and falling apart in places. Not very well run, but cheap rates so, as always, you get what you pay for, including the wide range of guests that stay in cheap hotels.

Fantastic location and surroundings Was disappointed with our room for tha fact we upgraded with a pet with us To find out we didn’t get our upgrade because pets were not allowed in that side of the hotel So Single beds which I was very disappointed with But the front desk could give us a free breakfast But to be honest, would rather a double bed I ordered But all in all staff are fantastic Easy parking Clean room Beautiful place to visit

Overall we were disappointed with the hotel's service but it was a convenient place to stay in a lovely setting. Check-in is at 3:00pm, which feels very late if you have plans in Stratford and want to freshen up beforehand. We arrived at 12:30pm, hoping to access our room a little earlier as we were attending a show that afternoon. We were told we would have to wait until 3:00pm. We then asked if we could use the pool facilities while we waited, but were told they were not included with our room and would cost an additional £12 per person, per day. While waiting, we sat in the bar and ordered drinks and a sandwich. As we waited for our food, another table had to send their sandwiches back because the bread was stale. When mine arrived, it was the wrong sandwich, so it also had to be sent back. Another guest cancelled his food order and left as he had been waiting so long. After several visits to reception, we were eventually told at 2:30pm that our room was ready, even though we had seen other guests checking in before us. Unfortunately, despite the long wait, the room itself had clearly not been serviced properly. We found a dirty sock on the floor, there was only one coffee mug, and the tea and coffee supplies had not been replenished. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, the blackout curtains were excellent, and although the cooling fan was small, it was very effective.

We had a good clean spacious room in the old house. The bathroom was bright and clean but we could have benefitted from a non slip mat in the shower/bath. The place is a little tired and could do with sprucing up but the grounds and antiquity of the place made up for that. The leisure centre pool area was too hot and there was no way to cool down after a sauna as the showers were a fixed temperature. The bar and restaurant were good for the price with a reasonable choice of standard dishes. Overall good value for money but could be a lot better.

The room was disgusting, like a seedy motel in the rooms with broken windows, stained carpets and walls, the beds were over 10 years old (looked at the date on the mattresses) googled the beds they should only be used for 5 years and 7 years max with proper cleaning facilities which I am positive this place did not have. Beds were brown and stained. The pool is a scam and photos of it should not be in the listings. When you get there they tell you its owned by a different company and you need to pay 12£ per person per day to use it, which is extortionate. Never in my life have I been to a hotel with a picture of a pool to find out its not apart of the hotel. The front desk and the staff are not helpful at all. The lobby is worn down, there are no seats on the patio and staff stand around with a vacant look on their face. Expect to take customer service into your own hands because you wont get any. There was a shed wall that should be condemned beside our unit as its missing bricks at the bottom and about to topple over. The windows are separating from the frames and extremely dangerous should a young child lean on them and fall out the window. My 2 and 4 year old ate a few chips(fries) and couldnt stomach much more. Wings are a joke 8 for 18£ in old oil? No thanks. I turned on the fan and it jumped across the room as the cage for the fan was smashed and missing a blade. Called reception to replace and they didnt. Baked in the heat with no fan or a/c. Complete joke

Room was ok (we didn’t stay in the main hall). Peaceful and quiet, glad there was a fan in the room as it was very warm. Didn’t

Huge place, acres of land. Main house is wonderful but in need of lots of money throwing at it. Hotel building is separate and newer. Swimming pool was not Olympic size but nice to relax in. Check in & check out very easy
