Solo stay

I decided to treat myself on the last night. Picked the hotel for location as was travelling back from Bergen and leaving the next day. On arrival the hotel is bright and modern with colourful art in the reception/bar area.Check in was quick and staff friendly. Felt the staff were stretched at time as they were covering reception and bar duties on own. The room was a disappointment. Was massive but so depressing- black ceiling,flooring and walls with Rolling Stones logo. Black furniture added to the darkness. Still not sure there was a need for 2 additional sinks in the room given the size of the showerroom. Stayed at 3 hotels during my visit to Norway and this has the smallest selection for breakfast. Location was excellent and looking at the pics other rooms seem to be bright and modern -i just was unlucky with the one I got. The corridor taking me to my room was also used to store cages and bed/mattresses. Not a great first impression when walking to your room.

Staff very welcoming&friendly, many with good humour to go with the queries that we had in getting around Oslo. Beds comfortable, zany decor, good sound proofing ( didn't hear guest movement or conversations). Room & bathroom very clean. Breakfast buffet was fantastic! On our last day a bagged feast was given to us the morning of check-out, as we needed to catch a train before the dining room opened.

It was a good location quiet, but, not suitable for people who don’t like walking far to their room it was like a rabbit warren with very uneven corridors for pulling baggage. If booking this hotel ask to be near the lift. Breakfast with great good choices of food.
