This is a review of the Standard Double Room (no window). Fragrance Hotel - Kovan is a small hotel located between the Kovan and Serangoon district. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was attended to by Jason at the check in desk. Jason was attentive and able to assist with my check in with proficiency. The check in process was very fast, the fastest I've had with a hotel. I was able to aquire my room key card in around 3 minutes and I managed to check in almost 1 hour earlier than the timing given as well. ROOM: I like the room design and its sort of minimalistic aesthetic. Given the cost of the room, it is smaller than I expected but I was ok with it. SERVICES: The wifi on mobile is not great, sometimes it freezes for a minute before resuming but it works fine on laptops. There are 4 charging ports and 2 USB ports in the room for those who need them. The TV channels are mostly local with minor exceptions such as a HBO channel which shows HBO movies. The air con is good and can be cold at times. COMFORT: The bed feels comfortable and the bedsheets are tucked tightly. The shower water is alright, it can get very hot at times but will cool down to a lukewarm temperature. The noise pollution is ok, just some loud doors banging from outside the room from time to time. AMENITIES: There are no fridge or safes in the room. Basic complimentary amenities are included. The shower has a all in 1 shampoo + bodywash dispenser. OTHER: The hotel is located near MRT stations and bus stops which makes it convenient to reach. There is also a 7-Eleven right next to the hotel which is very convenient for travellers. OVERALL: It is a good hotel to stay in but I feel the room price should be slightly lowered for what it's worth.
