Fantastic
From check in to check out, all was great. Peter the front desk Mgr checked us in and we interacted with alot during our 10 day stay. Peter went above and beyond a few times to help us out, make sure we had everything we needed. There were a few issues and they got taken care of right away. The breakfast room was large with plenty of choices for a hot or cold breakfast. Room was a bit on the small side for a 10 day stay.

Solo stay

Unfortunately, my stay at the Marmara Hotel in Budapest was not nearly as good as I was expecting. Apart from the exceptional service checking me in and also in answering a few questions that I had, I felt unsatisfied: 1) The property was dated and needs a facelift. 2) The toilets did not flush properly, creating an inconvenience, which was very irritating. 3) The paid Breakfast was skimpy, had very few items to choose from and the staff not personable or welcoming. Their hours for Breakfast are also too short, only 3 hours whereas in the other 4 hotels I stayed in while in Europe, the hours were longer by at least 30 minutes. Lastly, I went to get a cup of Coffee right at the 10am closing time and the staff had turned off the coffee machine and would not allow me to get a cup of Coffee. Totally unbelievable and in every other Hotel I stayed in, they did not start the closing process until every guest had finished Breakfast..

The air con unit dial was broken so I couldn’t see if I was on the lowest temperature. The air con needs an upgrade I think as not very powerful. Also, as a tip you must leave one of the key cards in at all times or the fridge will go off. Staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. Breakfast was the standard you would expect in Europe. The room was extremely clean and quiet. A comfortable bed too. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Marmara hotel and Budapest.

Lovely reception area with most staff there being very helpful. A couple looked rather uninterested in the guests. Perfectly pleasant bedrooms, excellent breakfast. Slightly lacking in a personal touch but then it is quite a large hotel. Well-situated.
