The resort itself was beautiful, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The property has a lot to offer, and we were looking forward to a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, the first three nights of our stay were anything but relaxing due to a business event being held at the resort. Our room was located above or near the ballroom, and we could hear the loud bass from the music being played during the events. The noise carried into our room late into the night and made it difficult to relax. We complained to the front desk and the first response was that they would ask the event to turn down the music. The second response was this happens a lot when events are held here. The third response was from the security staff who got us a room credit which we appreciated but it was not his job to do what management should have done. To make matters worse, on our very first morning we were awakened at 6:30 a.m. by the same music. Throughout our stay, various event-related activities around the resort created additional disruptions that took away from the peaceful atmosphere we had expected. While the resort and our accommodations were excellent, the noise and disturbances associated with the business event significantly impacted our experience. Guests seeking a quiet, relaxing vacation may want to inquire about scheduled conferences or large events before booking.

Beautiful property with amazing staff from start to finish. Loved the pool/beach restaurant and bar, as well as the fantastic breakfast restaurant. Excellent food, drinks, and service. Poolside staff were absolutely wonderful. The resort is in a great location, 10 minutes from the airport and close enough to Duval Street that we walked there twice (30-minutes walk) but not so close that we were part of the chaos there! Two things which didn’t really bother us but should be noted for anyone considering a stay here — the “beach” consists of lovely white sand, and the resort provides chairs, umbrellas, etc. but there is no feasible swimming in the ocean (rocks, heavy seaweed, etc). If you like lounging in the sun and feeling the sand between your toes, it’s lovely. But for getting wet you’ll need to rely on the two beautiful pools. The other thing is the walls are very thin and you will hear your neighbors at all times. Again, that didn’t bother us but some people may find it annoying/disruptive. Overall a truly fantastic experience with the perfect blend of privacy, luxury, and access to bars and nightlife when we wanted it.

This hotel is overpriced and, in my experience, engages in misleading advertising. As a local who visits the Florida Keys frequently, I have stayed at many hotels throughout the area. This was my first stay at Casa Marina, and I was genuinely excited because I had heard positive things about the property. I booked an oceanfront king room and was extremely disappointed. I arrived around 9:00 PM and found that the room had only two small windows, one in each corner. The only view was of the pool—certainly not what I would consider an oceanfront room. Thinking there had been a mistake with my reservation, I called the front desk. After explaining the situation, the staff member told me that I couldn't see the ocean because it was nighttime and that I would see it in the morning. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The room simply did not match the oceanfront description advertised on the website. Beyond the room issue, the hotel itself felt outdated, had an unpleasant odor, and did not live up to the expectations set by its reputation or price point. I also became ill after eating the fish tacos on the property. One of the hotel's main selling points is its private beach, which is advertised as the largest in Key West. However, during my stay it was covered in so much seaweed that guests couldn't access the water. Overall, this stay was a complete waste of money. The staff was not particularly welcoming, the room did not match what was advertised. Would not recommend.

Love beachfront property and ability to rent golf cart at resort

Although i can appreciate the historic nature of the property, roaches are unacceptable. There is also no beach as sold by the pictures on all hotel platforms.

We liked the resort

Recent renovation was hardly noticeable. Dirty bird poop. Bugs. Weathered and worn out. Sadly this historic place seems beyond repair, even though this Reno cost $92k so they claim. Disappointed.

Just… no. Casa Marina is wildly overpriced for what it is. I have stayed at rough all-inclusives in the Dominican that felt more luxurious than this — and at least there, someone was trying to hand me food and alcohol. The “beach” is the biggest disappointment. Calling it a beach feels generous. It is ugly, underwhelming, and nobody seemed particularly interested in helping with drinks or making it feel like a resort experience. The amenities were also something special: loud maintenance workers pressure-washing the pool area at 3:30 a.m., a broken microwave sitting outside our room when we arrived, old golf carts for rent that looked like they had survived several hurricanes, overpriced drinks from the outside bar served in what appeared to be little Dixie cups, and housekeeping that apparently only happens if you specifically ask for it. The unexpected highlight was that, by chance, we walked by and got to hear a pretty good wedding cover band singing Journey songs. So there’s that. I really wanted to like this place because it is Key West and the name sounds fancy. But for the price, the whole experience felt tired, sloppy, and nowhere close to what it sells itself as. Real classy place.

Everyone was wonderful, room clean & wonderful, weather great )except the pungent sea) just great. We’ll be back!!

The ambiance of the old building was unique. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The grounds were mostly clean and well kept. There were some areas that needed attention or were worn. Our room was very clean and well kept. All in all it was a nice stay. Nothing special. But adequate.
