There were a lot of construction going on so most of the restaurants were closed when we got there and they combine one restaurant for the buffet and a dinner. They open it for other restaurants which was horrible. The beach was disgusting with the seaweed we could not go on the beach we could not get in the sea in the water.

Lots of construction going on on. Jackhammers at breakfast. Paint fumes coming through AC from room next door on last night. Many resultants closed on different nights, hard to keep track of what’s available. And pushy pressure to sit through presentation for silly Hyatt travelers club that was super annoying but at least led to nice credit to spend on tour. Otherwise gorgeous place with lovely staff and fees for a family vacation.

Many staff only did the bare minimum. Rowdy guests were allowed to annoy other peaceful guests. The enthusiasm and energy was lacking. Food left much to be desired. Most concierge and excursions staff were passive in their approach to offerings.

Our recent stay at Dreams Tulum was extremely disappointing. The biggest issue was that we were never informed prior to arrival that significant renovations were taking place throughout the resort. Had we known, we would have reconsidered our booking or chosen another destination. Guests deserve transparency when construction may impact their vacation experience. The renovations resulted in limited restaurant availability and reduced dining options. We specifically chose this trip to celebrate a special occasion and looked forward to enjoying the resort's restaurants. Several options were unavailable, and we were unable to enjoy the special celebration meal we had planned. This was particularly frustrating because dining was one of the main reasons we selected this resort.
Additionally, there were few gluten free food choices which made finding suitable meals often difficult and adding unecessary stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
One of our rooms also had multiple maintenance issues. When we addressed our concerns to the hotel's attention, the response from management was disappointing. The compensation offered was minimal and did not adequately reflect the inconvenience we experienced. More concerning was the attitude of the management team, who acted like we were asking for a favor rather than being proactive with a fair resolution to legitimate concerns.
This experience fell short of expectations and hope there is improvement in the future.

We knew after booking about the “under construction “ which we thought was about the swim up rooms. But we are on vacation and wanted to make the most of it. However, the vacation vibes were ruined due to the LOUD construction scene which was heavily consisted of jackhammer and concrete dust flying everywhere. The food is mediocre. The only place about this resort is the staff.

Rooms were amazing, staff was amazing and helpful, food was good, however, there weren’t too many options on their buffet style. The hotel supposedly offered kayaking, however, this was not true. Other than that, the stay was nice.

The service was amazing; however most restaurants were closed and the beaches were covered in mounds of seaweed. As such, we couldn’t enjoy the beaches or the ocean. Some of this was seasonal, but we were never notified of the limitations and reduced amenities. We couldn’t even book many of the excursions due to the seaweed and oceans. Additionally, several areas and amenities were under construction with no notification.
