Very reasonably priced amd near city centre. Bed was extremely comfortable. However, no cafe, no breakfasts available, no reception area with brochures.... simply a room to stay. A 'pod hotel' is the description, I believe. Hence the price. Shower and sink area was very clean. Only provided towels. Also, no shower mat and the floor was very slippery without it. Finally, my en suite VERY SMALL room overlooked Liverpool road, had a window that didn't close. A 'sort of double window' had been fitted across the bay window to stop the draught, I believe, but it didn't stop the noise from this main road. The previous reviews about this property indicates a change of ownership.

I checked in after the 3pm check in time but my room wasn’t ready and I had to wait a few minutes. My single room was small, a little cramped and basic, clean enough but tired looking. The bed was a little hard for me and there was only one pillow, which was quite flat. A disappointment for me was that my room had no natural light, due to not being able to open curtains to the window, which overlooks a very busy road. The traffic noise was not quite as bad as I expected, but there was a constant, irritating loud humming noise all night. Some kind of fan? Maybe a bathroom fan in an adjoining room? The shower was nice and hot, but the shower stall was very small and cramped. The room had a coffee maker and coffee, but only one small cup, so I had to keep filling it up. I couldn’t get the TV to turn on, not sure if the problem was with the TV or the remote. The reception staff was very friendly. The hotel itself is in need of a lot of TLC, very tired and worn, with shabby carpets and paint in hallways and stairs. The main reason I stayed here was the convenient, free parking, plus the price was decent and the location close to the city center. I probably won’t be visiting Chester again, but if I do, I won’t stay here.

We was made welcome on arrival and allowed to park up free at lunchtime as we were going to the races. Checked in later and again greeted with a smile. The room was adequate though my impression is that it needs updating and modernising as does the whole building. Short walk to the city centre with many pubs and restaurants on the way. We only stayed one night but would stay again when visiting Chester.

Great location for Chester Town. Double bed was comfortable. Shower 🚿 was really nice too. Parking was fine for my stay. Chester is a lovely city with lots of old buildings. I walked along the River Dee & the canal and parks.

Arrived Friday to a warm and helpful welcome. Rooms were great, friendly staff and lovely feel to the place. Only down side was the road/traffic noise pretty much all night.
