Chinese Ink painter TK Chan will present her art combining AR technology, titled “Art of the wild-Bonds Beyond the Reeds”, running from today to 27 July at the Harbour north Phase 1. Featuring works with distinct creatures in the wetland. The exhibition incorporates AR (Augmented Reality) technology, allowing viewers to scan the QR code with their mobile devices, focus the camera on any artwork, which will direct them to an interface to play games with the animals. The interactive art breaks the realistic wall between audience and their artwork, bringing to life the liveliness of wildlife animals in art through virtual interfaces. The lively illustrations offer an unique outlook on human’s virtual or physical connection with wildlife animals, engaging full experience in the exhibition.
Bringing Wildlife to Life – Raising Awareness for Wetland Conservation
This exhibition was inspired by Hong Kong’s Wetland Park. Situated along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, Hong Kong is a vital resting stop for many wild species annually. However, their wetland habitats often go overlooked. Observations of these creatures were closely carried out in the conservation sites, which were carefully transformed into brushwork, capturing the ferocious energy but also cutesy perspective of wildlife animals in her ink paintings. Through her work, TK hopes to inspire greater public awareness of the need for wetland conservation.
