About the event

Step into the shoes of a 10-year-old as you explore Worlds Around You: A Think! Contemporary Primary School Exhibition. Full of imagination and curiosity, these young students look beyond the surface and delve into the stories that lie within and around them. Discover how they interact and make sense of the different worlds behind everyday life, while sharing their voices through contemporary art.

Worlds Around You is the 12th edition of the Think! Contemporary programme, presented by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) in partnership with CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace, Geylang Methodist School (Primary), Haig Girls’ School, Mayflower Primary School, St. Anthony’s Primary School and Xinghua Primary School.

About Think! Contemporary
Think! Contemporary is a museum-based school programme by Singapore Art Museum (SAM) that advocates learning through art. In this programme, students are invited to visit the museum either onsite or online to learn about contemporary art. Designed to integrate content from SAM’s exhibitions with school curricula, Think! Contemporary positions artworks from SAM exhibitions as primary educational resources. For Worlds Around You: A Think! Contemporary Primary School Exhibition, artworks from SAM's exhibitions serve as key references for classroom teaching of Art, Character and Citizenship Education, English, Science or Social Studies.

About the organizer

Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore located in the cultural district of Singapore. Known as SAM, the museum presents contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including a new venue in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar. The museum is building one of the world's most important public collections of Southeast Asian contemporary art, with the aim of connecting the art and the artists to the public and future generations through exhibitions and programmes. SAM is working towards a humane and sustainable future by committing to responsible practices within its processes.
