Join us in celebrating the first-ever Student Visual Storytelling Awards, where the recipients respond to the theme “World Around Me”. From capturing the essence of their surroundings through keen observation to sharing introspective personal narratives, these projects reveal how student storytellers perceive and engage with their environments.
The Student Visual Storytelling Awards is a new competition spearheaded by Objectifs that celebrates the creativity of visual storytelling of today’s youth. The exhibition is a culimination of an open call, where students and media clubs from MOE schools submitted their works in three categories: Student Photographer of The Year, Student Film of The Year, and Photo Club of The Year. The participants’ works were reviewed by a selection panel, including photographer Darren Soh, photojournalist Neo Xiaobin, and filmmaker Siyou Tan.
About the organizer
Established in 2003, Objectifs is a visual arts space in Singapore that is dedicated to film and photography.
Our goal is to cultivate original voices in visual storytelling, and to inspire and broaden perspectives through the power of images. We do this by presenting a year round programme of exhibitions, screenings, workshops, talks, mentorships and residencies, aimed at fostering dialogue about visual culture, and advancing the practice and appreciation of photography and film.
