Hong Kong is on a lucky streak recently. Two precious giant pandas are about to arrive in Hong Kong, then Yingying gave birth to a pair of twins. BLINK Gallery proudly presents "Master Panda”, an ink painting art exhibition, featuring the artworks of local artist TK Chan. Opening at the "BLINK Gallery" in Harbour North Phase 1, the exhibition lasts from September 2 to November 3, 2024.
As the hometown of giant pandas, Sichuan has an unique natural environment and rich historical background, forming a laid-back cultural environment valuing leisure and work-life balance, very different from the bustling Hong Kong. In order to fully showcase the “Land of Abundance” Sichuan, TK Chan has especially taken inspiration from its intangible cultural heritage and famous scenic spots, creating five paintings featuring pandas enjoying themselves in Sichuan.
This exhibition captures moments of daily life in Sichuan from a subtle and humanistic perspective, from having fun to having meals, each painting is packed with vitality and appeal. BLINK Gallery believes that these works will not only allow the audience to experience the cuteness of pandas, but also raise awareness on humanities, arts and cultural heritage.
In addition to paintings, this exhibition is launching different kinds of merchandise, such that viewers can buy one as a souvenir after viewing. A "Panda Ink Painting Workshop" and souvenir redemption event are also held at the same venue on designated days. BLINK Gallery sincerely invites the general public and art lovers to participate in this exhibition, where we can experience the charm of giant pandas, and explore the cultural mysteries of Sichuan.
