About the event
Presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, and funded by the Urban Renewal Fund, the public art and community art project ‘RE: Tai Kok Tsui’ promotes relationship-building and fosters meaningful connections among the local communities through art interventions. In collaboration with Rooftop Institute, ‘Hok Hok Zaap Kok’, a co-learning workshop series has been organised over the past three months to bring together Tai Kok Tsui residents, workers, elders, students, and families, as well as visitors from outside the district.
‘Community Museum Series’ blending the concepts of museum and community, presenting the vibrant spirit of Tai Kok Tsui community as well as responding to the distinctive lifestyle and community characteristics of Tai Kok Tsui.
Building upon the theme of advocating artistic inquiry as a method of learning, artists are invited to transform their creative concepts into ‘Little Poems from Tai Kok Tsui’ workshop, ‘Tai Kok Tsui People Collection’ workshop, 'Tai Kok Tsui Family Playdate' and 'Photogram in Tai Kok Tsui' workshop, inspiring participants to question the norms of everyday life through artistic expression.
‘Community Museum Series - Hok Hok Zaap Kok’ is now open. It showcases the works of participants from the five workshops. Audiences are invited to respond with their own artistic creations by following the artists’ guidelines, or sketching on the streets, experiencing the joy of community art!
