Ontroerend Goed—The Smile Off Your Face and A Game of You | Immersive Theatre Information

Following the critically acclaimed sold-out performances of Fight Night (2015) and £¥€$ (LIES) (2019), the esteemed Ghent-based theatre collective returns to present a pair of one-on-one immersive theatre experiences that join hands with the audience visually, physically and sensually to investigate the nature of trust and intimacy.
One-on-one immersive theatre where you and the show become one
After the wildly successful Fight Night (2015) and £¥€$ (LIES) (2019), groundbreaking theatre company Ontroerend Goed will again ignite the imagination of the Hong Kong Arts Festival audience with two unforgettable one-on-one immersive theatre experiences.
The Smile Off Your Face
“You are blindfolded. You are tied up in a wheelchair. There is no stage. There's no audience, no place where actors perform under the lights. Actually you don't know where you are, but you have your suspicions. You are imagining something. Maybe you were here before. Maybe not. Allow yourself to be guided by us once more. You are safe. We'll take care of you.”
Hailed as one of the 50 best performances of the 21st century in 2019 (The Guardian), the original version of The Smile Off Your Face won six international awards including the Fringe First Award and Total Theatre Award in Edinburgh.
A Game of You
“For those who don’t know us yet, there’s seven of us
craving to spend some time with you.
To get under your skin, if possible.
To get to know you better than we know ourselves.
Some say we’re inquisitive, manipulative or downright evil.
We’re players and our intentions are always sincere.
Our sole purpose in unreal life
is to let you find out who you might be and get entangled in the game you play.”
After hundreds of performances in Dutch, English and French, remakes in Moscow and Vancouver, and tours around the world, this all-time favorite of Ontroerend Goed will be presented after your experience of The Smile Off Your Face.
