About the event
Dunman Secondary School Choir | Concert Introduction

Dunman Secondary School Choir has established itself as one of the top school choirs in Singapore since its formation in 1992. Barely three years under the directorship of conductor Mr Toh Ban Sheng, it became the first neighbourhood school choir to clinch the Gold Award at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Choral Competition in 1997. It went on to consistently garner top awards and three consecutive Gold with Honours in Singapore. In Europe, it has won numerous Gold diplomas, special prizes such as the Repertoire Prize, Outstanding Performance Prize of Contemporary Work, Conductor’s Prizes and Festival Laureate at international festivals.
The choir has toured Australia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, New Zealand, Poland, Slovakia and the United Kingdom, and performed a sold-out concert at Esplanade. Supported by a team of committed teachers, the choir is committed to helping its members deepen their passion and talent, as well as touching lives through music-making.
In Dunman Secondary School Choir’s sixth year performing at the Esplanade’s Limelight series, highlights of the concert include Seasons of Love, For Good from the hit musical Wicked, as well as favourite tunes such as Circle of Life and What a Wonderful World.
