About the event
Exhibition Introduction

Beneath its flourishing and hustling, Hong Kong has been experiencing substantial changes since the late nineties. Many of the things that made the city unique, such as neon signboards, street food stalls, theatres, have slowly been disappearing. The goal of this mini exhibition is to bring back some good memories before they bitterly vanish altogether.
Since the passing of Hong Kong’s Buildings Ordinance in 2011, there have been no more large new calligraphy or retro neon signboards along the main streets. In recent years, Justin in his spare time attempts to document vanishing scenes in Hong Kong, capturing metropolitan life in the neighbourhoods of Mong Kok and Sham Shui Po.
Nostalgic Times is a series of photographs that portray retro moments into movie-like scenes, expressing the deepest sense of the stories behind each individual photo, by way of both digital and film formats.
