About Event

This January, Hong Kong’s acclaimed Romer String Quartet and pianists Jenny Ng and Julie Kuok present two special events at Lau Bak Livehouse to celebrate the 70th birthday of music legend Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The first event, on 17 January, features solo piano pieces by Julie Kuok. The second, on 19 January, features ensemble pieces by Romer String Quartet and Jenny Ng. Both performances feature a repertoire personally selected by Sakamoto himself and include approved, original and previously unreleased arrangements of classics such as Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence, aqua and titles from the film The Last Emperor.
