Fantastic 5.0
Klook pass does really save you some money and it's easy to also book the attractions. Just be warned that the standalone package dates and time availability is different from the klook pass

Fantastic 5.0
Overall an outstanding tour with a lot of good information and great to see all those filming locations for LOTR. Our guide was Robin who was an extra throughout the three movies and it was fun hearing his perspectives and talking with someone who was really in the thick of the movie making experience. The van was comfortable and the props were a nice touch to make photos a bit more memorable. Highly recommend this tour and this company.

Fantastic 5.0
Our tour guide was incredibly enthusiastic, taking us to Tongue Point, a spot very close to the sea lions. The itinerary was well-planned, and even though the road conditions weren't the smoothest, we felt completely at ease with our guide. You definitely shouldn't miss this!

Fantastic 5.0
This is an excellent museum, the largest in New Zealand, spread across four large floors. The exhibition on the Battle of Gallipoli in 1915-16 is particularly impressive. You can't see the whole museum in less than 3 hours.

We super enjoyed this! Patrick was a fantastic guide! We appreciated that he shared with us his favorite artwork around the city. He also shared with us information about Wellington. We also enjoyed the hot drinks on the way back. This was a great experience :)

What to know before visiting Wellington

Wellington’s top things to do through the year

Wellington’s activity bookings are led by Tours, followed by Cruises and Water activities, with demand rising and falling through the year and peaking in December. Expect steadier interest early in the year and a clear lull around June before demand climbs again toward the December peak.

Best activities by traveller type

Families often pick Tours for easy, well-paced ways to see the city and surrounding highlights, while Cruises also work for family groups who enjoy scenic time on the water. Couples will find Tours and Cruises both appealing for relaxed, romantic outings. Solo travellers and small groups can pick from the wide range in Water activities for budget-friendly or more adventurous options, or join Tours for social, guided experiences.

What travellers from the United States tend to book ahead

Most travellers lock in activities a few days out, so there’s flexibility to book within that window; the earliest planners commonly book around three weeks ahead, which matters most in the December peak. If you’re travelling in the busiest months, consider securing popular Tours and Cruises earlier rather than waiting until the last minute.

How the categories compare on price and who they suit

Water activities are the easiest way in price-wise and also show the widest spread of options, meaning you can find very cheap entry-level choices or higher-end experiences. Tours sit in the mid-range and are versatile for families, couples and solo travellers seeking guided local insight. Cruises tend to be the priciest on average and suit travellers looking for a more premium, scenic experience on the water.
