    1. Hello! Please, introduce yourselves and your website.
Hi! We’re JB and Renée, the Traveleaters behind Will Fly for Food, a travel blog for the gastronomically-inclined. Food is the number one reason why we travel and our blog is a manifestation of that.
Unfamiliar local food is always fascinating to us so we try to find the most interesting, the most authentic, and the most obscure food experiences on every trip!
    2. How long have you been an affiliate of Klook and how was your experience thus far?
We’ve been Klook affiliates since August 2016. Aside from this two-year pandemic when the world stopped traveling, our experience as Klook affiliates has been positive and rewarding thus far.
We were Klook customers before we became affiliates so that gives us extra motivation to promote Klook on our blog. It helps when you strongly believe in a brand and that was the case with us and Klook.
    3. Can you share how and why you got started with affiliate marketing?
It was a natural progression for us. Like with many bloggers, it was just a hobby at first, something we did on the side. But as our baby grew, the possibility of our hobby becoming a full-time gig became a reality. We started looking at ways to monetize our blog and affiliate marketing was a big part of that strategy.
    4. How do you create content to promote products?
We create content based on our own travel experiences. For us, planning a trip is just as much fun as the trip itself.
Like any obsessive-compulsive planner, we’d spend hours doing research on things to do and local dishes to eat at every destination. Hopping on Klook to see what activities were available was always part of the research process.

As we often mention in our blog, we sometimes learn about interesting activities on Klook that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise – things like ice fishing in Sapporo or golden clam picking in Hualien.
Even if we don't wind up buying anything, it’s always fun to look and we encourage our readers to do the same.
    5. Were there any challenges that you faced?
For travel bloggers, the pandemic was a major obstacle so it’s nice to finally see the light at the end of that two-year tunnel.
The pandemic was an unusual event but even the nuts and bolts of running a blog aren’t as easy as it seems. People see the nice pictures but most have no idea what it takes to run and maintain a travel blog.
We once read an article estimating that over 95% of all bloggers quit within the first year after they realize how hard it actually is. Achieving success with a blog takes time and stamina, so you have to commit to it and not quit.
    6. Can you share some tips on how to become a successful affiliate?
Words matter. We find that offering suggestions on tours and activities is way more effective than hard selling. People aren’t stupid and no one likes to be told what to do. Just be honest and forthcoming and people will trust you more.
    7. If there is one post on your site you would want your fellow Klook affiliates to read, which one would it be and why?
We’ve written about a few Klook activities through the years. Here’s one from Seoul: JSA & DMZ Tour - A Day Trip to the Most Dangerous Border in the World
Will Fly for Food in the DMZ in South Korea
We chose to feature this one because it’s one of the most interesting tours we’ve been on so far. It was fun to write about and it inspired me to be as descriptive as possible and to provide as much information in the hopes of encouraging readers to book the same tour.
The provocative nature of the tour itself does most of the heavy lifting, but we’ve generated quite a few bookings for these DMZ tours over the years.
    8. What is one thing that you like about Klook Affiliate Program?
This is easy! We like the Klook affiliate program because we like Klook.  We were customers before becoming an affiliate. We believe wholeheartedly in the brand and that carries over in my words when we promote Klook on our blog.
We like Klook for many reasons – its large selection of interesting activities, its easy-to-use navigation, and its fun branding. We wouldn’t promote it with as much enthusiasm if we didn’t enjoy using it ourselves.

Try everything once and don’t give up!
