Kintsugi Workshop in Singapore
- Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art and it involves mending broken ceramics using gold. It is taught on the principle that when you mend a broken ceramic and illuminate the cracks with gold you are creating an even more beautiful piece of art
- It's very applicable to people of all generations young and old who may go through 'brokenness' (emotional distress) and may feel burdened by certain 'cracks' (unfortunate events) through work stress or relationship problems with friends, family or colleagues
- Through the Kintsugi healing session, we teach the participants how to make the right connections (glueing the broken ceramic pieces) and bounce back from the difficulties and move on with life
- Kintsugi Art also teaches us sustainability - mend and repurpose your broken ceramic plates, bowls etc. Don't throw them away!
- All are welcome to learn Kintsugi - Youths, adults, seniors, LGBTQ and Wheelchair friendly

What to expect
Start your session with a short presentation on the history of Kintsugi and how it relates to our daily lives. Then you would choose a Japanese ceramic piece and break it!
Following that, you would then proceed to mend the ceramic crack by crack and finish off with a brushing of gold powder.
You would return home with a beautiful finished Kintsugi masterpiece in a lovely Sakura blossom giftbox.

Went for the beginners course. It was a relaxing and easy to follow course. Ceramics, resin and tools are provided. The studio is a nice stylish space and Nilo is a great mentor~
I had a wonderful and excellent experience on this workshop! From the sharing on what is kintsugi about, the breaking, the mending and the sharing! the therapy also spoke personally to me! the friendly teacher Nilo & assistant Chong were very approachable too!
Absolutely insightful and meaningful. enjoyed the experience a lot w my fiancé for our 5th year anniversary. learnt the art of kintsugi and how the concept of wabi-sabi plays in everyday life. thank you so much!
Nilo is such a patient, pleasant and beautiful coach. Having to understand more about Kintsugi and the beauty behind the "broken art" is a constant reminder to ourselves to see life in a different perspective. We enjoyed the class through the few hours!
I was intrigued by the tagline "Broken made beautiful," and I was blown away by the experience. From the process of selecting our pottery piece, breaking, arranging, sticking the pieces together, fixing, and adding the finishing touches, it was indeed therapeutic. Nilo, the lovely lady who started this studio, was so warm and generous. My girl enjoyed the session thoroughly and asked me when will be the next time we would return. Thank you, Nilo, for starting @kintsugiartstudio and hosting us. ❤️
Nilo was a great lady who was really patient with us throughout the entire sessions I’m also truly amazed at how she incorporated healing into the whole Kintsugi concept. I truly appreciated the effort at this attempt to incorporate mental wellness and I hope more people would benefit from her sessions! We went there for our 5th dating anniversary, and it was an interesting experience indeed and we truly enjoyed ourselves.
