Balinese Cooking Class at The Kumbuh Restaurant Ubud

‘Twas a lovely experience that we get to learn and actually cook traditional Balinese dishes from meal to dessert! It was also very engaging as we smelled and tasted all the complete ingredients they have. Our chefs are experts at what they do, but were also very friendly and fun to be with! Additionally, the Kumbuh place is very nice and relaxing. Will definitely recommend doing this activity!

The cooking class was explained and demonstrated by the handsome chef Risma. The atmosphere was good and the explanations were simple and in-depth, making it easy for us to follow the teaching content. After completing the cooking class, we were given corresponding certificates, which was very impressive!

It was a great opportunity to see, process and cook spices from Bali and Indonesia. I think kids will enjoy it too, since they also give you a certificate.

I recommend it to everyone, including adults, if they are in elementary school 3 or older and are interested in cooking. It was a really friendly and high-quality class. The children experienced and tried vegetables, turmeric, and spices. Of course, they made it all themselves. It was great to see a photo on the certificate of completion given at the end. The chef was friendly and it was a fun class. I felt good because they gave me a certificate. However, I didn't receive any contact through WhatsApp at all, so I waited at Coco Supermarket for over 30 minutes and then took a taxi to the resort. I wonder why Coco Mart didn't provide a pick-up service, unlike the instructions. So I barely arrived at the restaurant at 11:20 and didn't receive any welcome tea. I contacted Klook in advance, but they only gave me the resort's phone number and email, and since I'm a foreigner, I couldn't call, so I sent an email, but it was returned.

Suppliers need to improve order confirmation issues. When I saw the previous message, it seemed that this was not the first time I had ignored an order. The order was written at Coco supermarket, but there was no driver to pick me up. After taking a taxi to the hotel, the hotel said that the department responsible for receiving emails had just found the order and did not prepare the materials. We'll come back tomorrow. Unfortunately, we had to leave by plane that night, and this arrangement was really unreasonable. Finally, the restaurant supervisor made an emergency response and immediately prepared the ingredients, waiting for 1 hour before serving. Worth appreciating!
