A must see for history buffs and people who wants to know the real story behind each and every temple around siem reap. I availed the audio guide and it was great, but i think you dont need it since there already ample explanations im a form of cards which comes for every important artifact.
This is a must visit in order to learn more about the ancient ruins, the various gods and their stories prior to actually going to the temples. It would make visiting the temples much more meaningful. I would recommend getting the audio guide to enhance the visit and it cost 5 USD.
Tuk Tuk came 10min earlier as per stated...ticket redemption was easy and fast. Will recommend to take audio with additional USD$5 cause the museum is too huge and informative. Worth visit. T-Gallery is just next door...they do provide every 30min free shuttle train to Siem Reap tourism sports....👍🏻
According to the evaluation, many people were picked up by tuktuk, but they accidentally saw an air-conditioned private car that day. They were very punctual and very polite. Thank you. The museum is very nice, but unfortunately the cultural relics in the museum cannot be photographed. I have already surfed the Internet and read books to do a lot of Angkor historical and cultural materials, and this is my itinerary on the last day of more than a week in Angkor Wat. Is it a general review? Because I already have background knowledge, buying a digital guide to visit the museum is like supplementing knowledge and reminiscing about the scenic spots from the previous few days. I think it is very good. Because someone suggested to come to the museum first and then to the attractions, I think it might not be that interesting... At the beginning, I saw a bunch of Buddha statues, listened to a bunch of past names, and there are very strange myths. I think it will only make people feel like visiting the museum. Confused... I really recommend that you have some background knowledge before you visit the museum. It will be more rewarding. Although the museum is not very big, there are a lot of cultural relics. I really have to listen to the electronic audio and watch the live video introduction. I think it takes at least 3-4 hours.
The hotel pick up was good, it's quite convenient (especially since you only pay 30 cents more than if you bought just the ticket on the museum's website). The museum itself is quite interesting and well-organized (especially compared to the one in Phnom Penh), and there's much information in English (so the audio guide doesn't seem necessary, unlike in the National Museum in Phnom Penh). It is worth visiting if you have some time, as it can give you quite a bit of information for your visits to the temples, and since most of the statues in the temples were removed and placed in museums, such as this one (or looted).
Many places in Angkor Wat are not explained, and this museum can answer many stories and culture about Angkor Wat! 10 points worth visiting !!!!
We were picked up by the driver from our hotel in an air conditioned car on time and were given our tickets upon arrival. We found it beneficial to visit the musueum prior to our visit to the temples of Angkor, the museum is nicely laid out and informative !
My flight was delayed, so I needed to change my pick up time at the last minute. Even though, they arranged my driver at later time upon my request. Their customer service was great! It is definitely worth to visit the Angkor National Museum before you visit the historical site.
