What to expect
Musical Boxes were an important symbol of European culture dating back to the 19th century and early 20th century.
Historical resources have shown that Singapore played an integral part in the progress and development of musical boxes in South-east Asia during that time frame.
In this Singapore’s first musical box museum, we aim to share the historical background from the rise to the fall of the musical boxes to how it made its way to Singapore in the 19th century to the public.

優美な音、 オルゴールの世界に、 見学を、 満喫したり、 充実したり、... 迫力満点!!! 🥰💯 Not the usual pop songs we are listening in everyday lives but immerse in the unique melody from various musical boxes which existed more than a century ago. From a miniature musical box to a luxury large scale standing musical box, from a personal entertainment to a commercialized purpose, musical boxes in history have played different roles over a century. The owner had given us clear and in-sightful guided tour which was exceptional and fruitful! We understood that Musical Box making craftmanship which existed centuries ago, indubitably mind-blowing and worth respecting! Without a doubt, Singapore Musical Box Museum is definitely worth a visit for people of all ages and nationality. Under the roof of a rich historial architecture, the nostalgic Peranakan Cafe serving delicious nyonya kuehs is surely a bonus! I truly appreciate Peranakan culture part of Singapore's unique Heritage.
This booking of the tour was very easy and smooth. The guided tour was very informative and relaxing. It's really an eye-opening tour for us regarding the history, the types of musical box and the music generated by different types of music al box. My family and I loved the snacks provided, too.
This is the place to go to understand more about the history of the music box, my daughter and I were fortunate to be guided by the owner of the music box museum. There are many delicious restaurants nearby and interesting places to explore. The cake and tea set is also very good.
A unique experience for tourists who want to learn about music and craftsmanship history in Singapore. Though it is quite a small place compared to other museums, the pieces shown to us during the tour were very precious and Sir Minami was really informative as the owner. This guided museum tour added a reflective and more human touch to our experience in contrast with the fast-paced and busy culture in Singapore. Complimentary coffee and sweets in their cafe were also served by polite staff.
Was truly honoured to have Minami as our tour guide. He showed us a really extensive collection of musical boxes all the way from 1700s, he even shared with us the history of how music box and watches came to be. Our ears are truly blessed to have heard the fine musical craftsmenship from many hundreds of years. Do check out as soon as possible because the future tours will be converted to digital videos.
I visited this place together with my friends. It is a hidden gem in Singapore. The guide was friendly and gave us the historical background for each musical box. The food is delicious. Book this tour and experience it!
nice experience to learn about musical box related history and even had a nice meal before the actual tour, which is like icing on the cake!
came with yummy meals together with the ticket, overall great experience especially the Peranakan food for lunch!
Wonderful tour given by Mr. Minami. It’s very informative, and I really learnt more on musical boxes. The food is amazingly scrumptious as well! I would go back to the Museum cafe specially to try their food!
Tour guide/owner is engaging, humourous and knowledgeable. A pity not all music boxes are introduced (understandable since its a short tour) The ticket is very special and overall the experience is great! Food is good too.
