Received the email attaching the Card one day before the day of use. Like most places in Europe, public transport is fast and convenience in Munich. Having the Card just makes it easy to travel as we can jump on and off the buses, trams, subways and trains within the network guided by our helpful google map. We use it to go to places like Nymphenburg Palace, Odeonsplatz and Marienplatz.
great for travelling in Munich! can use for buses, trains, trams etc. As this was for M12 area, we also used it for nearby city like Lake Tegernsee. The trip to and fro Tegernsee already covered the cost of the travel card! good deal!
For convenient travel, enjoy unlimited rides even if you get on the wrong bus. There are also discounts available at participating stores, though I didn't use them this time. Also, ticket validation only requires showing your QR code.
I purchased an M-6 zone travel card, which we used for 4 adults and 2 children. For the other children, we bought a day ticket (M-12) at the station each day. Since the date is printed on them, we didn't need to find a place to validate the tickets. This turned out to be very cost-effective. Not only could we use it from the airport to the city center, but on the third day, we also went to the Mauthausen concentration camp, using both the S-Bahn and local buses.
The pass was easy to use. The discounts for attractions were not attractive as it could save only 1-2 euros per visit per adult. However, if the group comprising 4 to 5 people, then the pass could save you a lot of money .
Unfortunately I cannot use the u bahn in the strike period I need to bought the another hop on hop off bus pass and I can only use the airport s bahn and enjoy palace entry fee discount
You can use the QR Code you receive directly without having to redeem any vouchers or tickets at the counter. It’s fast and convenient!
this was my 2nd Munich City Card as my stay in Munich was 6 days. but this time it was the cheaper M zone. very convenient !
This was very helpful! I didn't need to verify anything directly in Munich, but having this made me feel at ease while traveling. I used it a lot and recommend it to anyone visiting Munich. Use this during Oktoberfest! Munich is great. It gets very crowded during the festival.
Although I only used it for group travel its a very convenient card, since you don't have to go look for a ticket vending machine. There were some issues with the card (the wrong name was mentioned as the main participant), but my conserns were sorted out quickly by the support team transport included:
