Surfing Lesson in Kuta Bali by S Surf School

We stayed across from the beach and chose a two-hour lesson. Unexpectedly, after the first lesson, we immediately booked a second day of classes. Safety: Since my child is only 6 years old and not heavy enough, the instructor was by his side the entire time, helping him with the board. Of course, before the lesson, the instructor also taught safety procedures. Instructor: The instructor was very nice and enthusiastic. My child was able to stand up on the first day, and he specifically requested to have the same instructor for the second day. The instructor spent two full hours with him, and by the second day, he could stand on the board for quite a while. During breaks, the instructor even carried him back to the resting area and took him to rinse off. Very professional.

Our instructor was super friendly and welcoming. He first taught us the different parts of the surfboard, then showed us the proper stance before going into the water. Most importantly, he explained all the safety precautions what’s safe and what to avoid while in the water. He was a really fun instructor, which made the whole experience even better. It was my first time surfing, and I was actually able to stand up! I enjoyed it so much that I definitely want to do it again. All the staff were very nice and kind, and they made us feel comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend this for first-timers you’ll feel at ease even if it’s your first try. There’s a public shower area, and they also have a portable setup if you want to change. I personally didn’t change and just dried off before heading home on a motorbike, which is pretty normal in Bali. The place is about 27–29 minutes away from Canggu, but it’s very accessible and totally worth it, especially for beginners.

My spouse and I took a semi-private lesson. Neither of us had surfed before, but we were both able to stand up and ride the waves 🏄️. The process was as follows: the day before, we received a WhatsApp message with the meeting time, based on the wave conditions. Pickup and drop-off areas are quite limited, so if you're concerned, it's a good idea to ask about it then. The school's location is easy to find using Google Maps. Upon arrival, we stored our belongings, received rash guards, and started with a lesson on the beach. Afterward, we moved to the ocean for practical training. This first part lasted about 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break, and then another 30 minutes of practical training. During the first lesson, we learned the basic way to ride a surfboard and safety precautions. The explanations were in simple English, so even though our English wasn't perfect, we understood. Also, if we looked confused, they would repeatedly ask, "Do you understand?" so it's fine even for those who aren't confident in their English skills 👍️. For our belongings, there was a box, like a costume case, under a parasol where other instructors were waiting, and we stored our items there. Since other instructors were always nearby, we felt secure leaving our valuables. This time, the shower was broken, so we just lightly rinsed off the sand and saltwater with a hose. As for drinks, there's a shop right next to the surf school, so you don't necessarily need to bring your own (coconut water costs about 40k). Pos, our instructor, was attentive to us not only during the lesson but also during breaks, making us feel very comfortable throughout the two hours. Even when we struggled to catch a wave, he'd say, "Don't give up 👍️" and explain how to improve each time. He's a wonderful instructor full of humanity; he offered eye drops when sand got in my eye, jumped up and celebrated with us when we rode a wave well, and even shared stories about his friendly dog during breaks. The other instructors were also cheerful and friendly, and the photos and videos they secretly took were sent to us via WhatsApp that evening, creating the best memories for our honeymoon. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to surf safely and securely!

The first surfing experience is directly full ✨ The coach is professional and careful. He teaches you how to stand and start the board. It didn't take long for me to successfully stand the board. It's super fulfilling!They also took beautiful photos for us.

Kids had an absolutely amazing surfing lesson with the boys at S Surf School! The team had safety as their top priority every step of the way, and we felt very confident that the kids were in great hands at all times. we could not believe how quickly the kids were able to stand up on the boards! And we were sent so many fabulous photos to remember the day too - highly recommend the team at S Surf!

Amazing surf school! The instructors were professional, caring, and genuinely passionate about teaching. They were always encouraging and cheering the students on whenever they succeeded, which made the lessons both fun and motivating. My kids enjoyed it so much that we booked another lesson for the next day. Highly recommended!

Mr. Jackson was truly an excellent teacher! We were complete beginners, but we managed to catch a few waves during the lesson. He also took many photos for us, which made for wonderful memories. Kuta Beach not only has great waves, but the sand is soft, so falling doesn't hurt too much. Plus, the instructor stayed with us the whole time and watched us closely, so we felt safe trying again and again. We're really glad we did it.

This is my first time to try surfing, my coach “Boss” he is teaching me very well, he is so kind and good at teaching people. I was a bit nervous but he always encouraging me all the time. I really enjoyed the time thank you for all the stuff, and BOSS. you won’t be regret.

I booked through Klook two days ago, and they informed me about the wave height the day before. We scheduled a time and went to the location. We received a private lesson for our family of three, and the instructors were very kind and we learned a lot. Even though my son was going through puberty and was often irritable, they helped him learn well, never losing their smiles, and he eventually succeeded. They also took some photos and videos, and S Surfing School took a lot of pictures and videos for us. My son left his swim jacket behind, and I sent a message asking if they could find it. They kindly found it, sent a picture, and we picked it up the next day. Right before our lesson, I saw a couple enter the water without boards and get swept away by the current, struggling far out to sea. One of the instructors immediately rushed in and rescued them. He wasn't even from this school but he went right in to save them. There's a 5-10 minute break in the middle, so keep that in mind. There are a lot of surfing schools on Kuta Beach, and there's a lot of hawking. I don't regret choosing this school and I recommend it!
