It was a great experience, and the timing of the visit was just right. Both the tour guide and the driver were very friendly. I highly recommend setting aside a day to participate; it's a unique experience!
It's not too early in the morning, but it's a shame we didn't go into the monastery. Our time in Hallstatt was too short.
Do not book any of the trips from Vienna Sightseeing agency.They literally destroyed our vacation! Unorganised and unprofessional. We arrived on time for the tour but they had 30 minutes delay because the bus they sent couldn’t fit us all. The tour guide was just getting out of the bus on the scheduled stops and instead of repeating the information and checking if the group was behind him he was just walking fast without any consideration. Not informative at least for the main attraction Halstatt, where i asked him from where we could take the boat for a tour when the rain stops . He promised to show us but instead when the rain stopped he started walking with some people of the group (those of course who could follow his pace) and didn’t care in reality to give any information. For 1 and a half hour we were searching for the boat at the end we didn’t have enough time to make the trip. 195€ went to trash. Never again! If you visit Vienna avoid them by any means and save your money.
