Traveler reviews
We thought teamLab Borderless was unique with the "borderless" and map-less experience it offered. Since there are no maps, prepare to spend time inside as you look for special immersive installations and moving art pieces. It's a bit of a walk from Kamiyacho Station, but not difficult to find. We went around 10 AM on a weekday, which was perfect because there weren't many visitors. It only got crowded around lunch time when we went out. Elderly people and those with eye conditions/issues may find Borderless too dark and disorienting—might not be for them.
experience: impossible to describe and a must see, feel, smell and immerse event. I haven't experienced any show that js so immersive and thoughtfully designed. highly recommend everyone visiting Japan to try atleast one of the teamlabs events.
TeamLab Borderless was truly one of the highlights of my Japan trip! Walking through the museum felt like stepping into another world. The immersive digital art flows seamlessly from room to room, with no fixed path, so every corner brings a new surprise. The interactive exhibits are stunning, and it's easy to lose track of time exploring the ever-changing light, colours, and projections. I especially loved how the artworks move beyond the walls and interact with visitors, making each experience unique. Love the drawing and interactive moment when your sea creature is post on the wall. Enjoyed a 3 hours in there. Better to wear white or light colour. Some area can be super dark so hold on tight to your loved ones exploring the mystical world.
I feel like this location is a lot more substantial and relaxing than some of the other locations. I especially liked the idea of the art moving in between rooms and mixing with eachother for unique experiences. My favorite was the waterfall room (mainly because it was so spacious and cool that it felt more refreshing, and the entrance area/maze. That said, I didn't try the interactive fish exhibit (because the line was extremely long and crowded with families, and because I've done it before at the less packed Fukuoka location). The mirrored light room is also available at other locations with less of a crowd, so I might recommend going to some of the smaller locations for some of the same exhibits, and then focus on the unique exhibits for this one. I still spent about 2 hours just looking around those exhibits and had a great time. If you want to make your moneys worth and do everything, including the tea house, you'll probably need more time in your schedule as well :)
We were late for our time slot because of heavy rain from the typhoon, but the museum just switched our time, and it was fine. This was gorgeous, immersive, interactive, and even really fun for my active boys, who were a little skeptical. We stayed for about 1.5 hours until some of us started to get a little overstimulated, so we went off in search of something to eat in the awesome underground mall this is located in. Definitely recommend.
this is a must visit place!!! it’s unique and a visual escapade you will never forget. it’s also good if the MAP is correct cos the direction that from Google map is not exactly accurate and some people might end up late. price: reasonable service: excellent and friendly crew facilities: excellent ease of booking on Klook: very easy experience: awesome
one of the best places I have visited. worth every penny. when I first entered, I was a bit confused as I didn’t know what to expect. soon as I stepped into the rooms and saw different sceneries, I was mind blown. different pictures, different scenes, all moving and changing. I stayed in the main area and as I witnessed the rotating graphics, I began to think what’s the purpose of life. we are all rushing but getting nowhere. I realized the purpose of life is no purpose at all and that doing nothing, just enjoying, is better than rushing. I will come back for sure
I absolutely loved the digital arts museum. Klook suggested this for me and my adult son and I am glad we chose to visit. The digital art is so vivid and unique. This was a great experience on a Sunday evening to wind down from a week of walking and shopping. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the opportunity to participate in the interactive art exhibition. There is so much to see and do for the whole family.
