What to expect
Step into the colorful world of Sri Lankan batik at Shermila Batiks, a family-run workshop founded in 1991 and now carried on by its second generation. What began as a small studio has grown into a creative space dedicated to preserving this traditional craft.
Located in Koggala near Galle, our factory and gallery showcase authentic batik clothing, accessories, and home décor made with natural dyes and intricate designs. Start with a guided tour and watch artisans draw, wax, dye, and boil fabric using the centuries-old wax-resist method. Then join a hands-on workshop to design and create your own batik piece—a unique souvenir and unforgettable cultural experience.
