- Yunnan is located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and the temperature difference between day and night is large (12-15 degrees Celsius). Please check the local weather forecast before departure, pay attention to your clothing, bring enough warm and cold-proof clothing. The sunshine and ultraviolet rays in Yunnan are strong. When engaging in outdoor activities for a long time, please wear a sun hat and sunglasses, and apply sunscreen to protect your skin. The weather is changeable, please bring rain gear.
- Yunnan has high mountains and steep slopes, with strict speed limits. The altitude of the itinerary is high, and the oxygen content in the air is low, so the speed of tourist vehicles may sometimes be only 20-30 yards uphill, please understand.
- Yunnan is a region with many ethnic minorities, please respect the local ethnic minorities' religions and customs.
- The economic development of Yunnan is relatively lagging. The scale and facilities of star-rated hotels are behind those in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. Some newly built hotels with better facilities are generally located around the city, about 15-20 minutes away from the city center by car (except for special reasons). Due to the special climate in Yunnan, hotel air conditioners are opened on a timed basis or not at all in winter. If you need extra bedding, electric blankets, etc., please ask the hotel staff.
- Lijiang has a high altitude, pay attention to rest to prevent altitude sickness; people with heart disease, high blood pressure and other diseases should be cautious. Please prepare some commonly used personal medicines for emergencies.
- Yunnan is a province with many ethnic groups. The local cuisine is mainly spicy and sour, with many cold dishes. Tourist group meals are generally for 10 people per table. Yunnan's diet is very different from other provinces, and may not suit your taste, please be mentally prepared; the local soil is weakly acidic, it is recommended to drink more tea. Tourists must bring valid ID documents when departing. People under the age of 16 must bring the original household registration book or valid household registration certificate, and infants must bring birth certificates.
- When purchasing tourist souvenirs and local specialties, be careful not to move the displayed samples at will to prevent accidental damage; merchants in the ancient city sometimes sell fakes, please be careful when purchasing.
- Essential items for travel: raincoat or umbrella, sneakers, cold medicine, gastrointestinal medicine, insect repellent plaster, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, etc. (The temperature difference between morning and evening in Lijiang is large, please bring slightly thicker clothes, it is recommended to bring sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, light and warm jackets, and wear sneakers)
