What to expect
The Sichuan Museum is located at 251 Huanhua South Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. It is 4 kilometers from the city center and 18 kilometers from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. It is the largest national first-class museum and a national-level museum jointly built by the central and local governments in Southwest China, boasting the most abundant collections. The main building covers an area of 65,000 square meters. As the "Civilization Hub in the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River," it is renowned at home and abroad for its collection of 300,000 cultural relics that string together an epic history of ancient Shu to modern civilization. Here, bronzes gleam, Han pottery shines, Tang steles and Song paintings echo Zhang Daqian's Dunhuang murals, and it is hailed as the "Gene Bank of Tianfu Culture and the Temporal and Spatial Hub of Civilizational Dialogue." It is often said, "One who does not see the treasures of the Sichuan Museum can hardly comprehend the soul of Shu," which shows the unique position of Ba-Shu civilization in the Chinese pedigree. The museum houses national treasures such as the Copper Pot with Inlaid Water and Land Battle Patterns from the Warring States Period and the Storytelling Pottery Figurines from the Eastern Han Dynasty. One hall showcases the spectacle of the integration of archaeology, art, and technology. Book now via KLOOK to enjoy the best discount tickets!
