The Macau 2049 show at the MGM Theater is a masterpiece that redefines the fusion of tradition and technology, directed by renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou. The 80-minute show is divided into eight acts. The show celebrates 5,000 years of Chinese culture through cutting-edge visual effects, holography and performances of intangible heritage such as Peking opera and lion dance. Having purchased tickets on Klook made it so much easier to enjoy it. Amazing!
2049 is an art performance created by director Zhang Yimou, combining light and shadow, technology, and traditional Chinese art. Traditionally, the folk art of ethnic minorities has always felt somewhat rustic to me, associated with backwardness and a lack of sophistication. However, this performance incorporates futuristic technology, seemingly showcasing a renewed artistic expression and a new sense of imagination. It's well worth seeing. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. It even includes robot dances (like the Ubtech robots from the Spring Festival Gala).
Very impressive large screen high resolution video projection and use of technologies with the stage performances. The video projection integration with the storyline of some of the stage performances could have been more closely interlinked - nevertheless, the show was worth attending.
It was a very good performance that combined technology and tradition! The most appreciated performances were the folk songs and dances and the performances of the robots and the elder sister! In addition, the lion cubs were given to the audience, which also created a lively atmosphere of interaction! It is definitely a performance suitable for the whole family to enjoy!
The show was very creative, fusing the traditional arts and performances of enthic groups with amazing effects created by technology. It's a wonderful and highly enjoyable experience suitable for people of all age groups. 舞台效果:excellent effects with all your five senses mobilised.
Fuss-free to book on klook and just scan qr code to enter. Totally enjoyed the show which is made up of different segments.
It was a spectacular show. It was the first time I saw robots performing on stage. The whole show was very enjoyable. Zhang Yimou was really amazing. He showed the stage effects perfectly.
This 2049 show is very exciting, a fusion of traditional culture and modern technology, and it is worth the trip. Highly recommended.
It is a very worthwhile performance. Whether it is the sound and light effects, the performance of the actors, or the combination of past and future technology, it is very enjoyable to watch. Director Zhang Yimou's show is worth watching.
Debuted in December 2024, this show is a real gem, deeply rooted in Chinese culture. It showcases some of China's ancient and often forgotten unique cultural aspects with stunning visual and auditory effects. What's particularly touching is that after each segment, subtitles appear with narration, introducing the production team and individuals involved in that performance. However, I noticed the audience numbers were low, perhaps because it hasn't gained enough recognition yet. But I highly recommend it.
