What to expect
Your journey starts by meeting your guide and boarding a custom-made super jeep! We’ll depart from Glacier Lagoon and drive towards Breiðamerkurjökull, a glacial tongue extending from Vatnajökull. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the formation of ice caves and local culture.
The caves we visit are 100% natural, constantly forming and changing with the seasons and weather conditions. The walking distance on the tour varies between 1-4 km. Before entering the cave, your guide will provide a safety briefing and equip you with all necessary safety equipment. Each tour is unique due to the ever-changing nature of the glaciers and caves. You’ll witness a variety of stunning ice formations and colors, from blue to emerald green and even striking black ice.

Reviews
It felt like a cash grab from start to finish. We were rushed the entire way, with the guide never checking if everyone was still behind her, even on slippery ice. Several people had crampons falling off and were clearly struggling, yet there was no stopping, no help, no headcount. It honestly felt unsafe. We were power-walked past every viewpoint while other tours around us stopped, laughed, took photos, and actually enjoyed the glacier. The moment that summed it all up was when we overtook another group and overheard their guide say, “what are you rushing for?” — and we just looked at each other thinking the same thing. We genuinely wished we booked literally any other tour. 45 mins drive in + 45 mins out for maybe 10 mins inside the cave, all rushed. Even when other jeeps stopped at scenic spots, we weren’t allowed out. Honestly, don’t book this cash grab of a tour, if there’s any other cheaper alternative nearby we’d recommend going for the cheaper ones.
