What to expect
About the Experience
In a quiet tea garden, meet the masters who have traveled abroad with national leaders. Though folk arts like "Rolling Lanterns," "Face-Changing," "Shadow Puppetry," "Long-Spout Tea Art," and "Short-Spout Tea Art" are common in Chengdu, it is truly unique to have the most authentic inheritors of these skills perform for you in person.
Our experience includes a visit to Master Zeng Xiaolong, a disciple of the founder of Sichuan flower tea, and Master Zhou Jun, the sole inheritor of traditional intangible cultural heritage shadow puppetry passed down from the Qing Dynasty. We will sit with these masters to communicate and exchange ideas, listen to their life stories and Chengdu's folk culture, and taste "Leng Dan Bei" (traditional Sichuan-style marinated dishes) or Sichuan-style pastries. During this time, you will also enjoy various intangible cultural heritage performances.
About the Venue
The local intangible cultural heritage community is both the home of the Long-Spout Tea Art and a gathering place for Chengdu's intangible cultural heritage inheritors. After night falls, it is quiet and peaceful, with only a group of intangible cultural heritage inheritors drinking, chatting and enjoying a fireside chat.
