Kumamoto Castle & Josaien & Mt. Aso/Kusasenri & Kumanoza Shrine
Departing from Fukuoka
Sakura no Baba Josaien
- Kumamoto Castle: Kumamoto Castle is famous as one of the three most famous castles in Japan. Walking in the ancient castle with a total area of 98 hectares, you can see unique castle construction techniques everywhere, such as the stone walls with a nearly vertical slope on the upper part, and the moat dug to divert the surrounding river water.
- Josaien: "Sakura no Baba Josaien" reproduces the castle town of the Edo period (1603-1868). The lantern at the entrance clearly reads "Kumamoto Yatai Village". Enjoy the local specialties with traditional and modern Japanese cuisine.
- Aso Volcano: Aso Nakadake No. 1 Crater is one of the few tourist attractions in the world where you can experience active volcanic activities up close. The world-famous emerald green volcanic lake will definitely make you linger. Experience the magnificence of the "Earth Heritage" for yourself.
- Kusasenri: Kusasenri overlooks the smoke-filled Aso Nakadake in the distance, which is the symbol of the Aso grassland. Pure and vast grasslands, cattle and horses run freely
- Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine: The prototype filming location of "Firefly Forest" and "Natsume's Book of Friends". It is called the mysterious entrance to another world. Climbing step by step along the worship road lined with nearly 100 lanterns, it feels like entering another world
