HOL CHAN MARINE RESERVE & SHARK ALLEY SNORKEL & DIVING SAN PEDRO

**Take a trip to the world’s 2nd largest barrier reef, rich in colorful marine life. ** Located 6km south of the coast of Ambergris Caye, the most popular area is called HOL CHAN, a veritable open-air aquarium. take a 30-minute boat ride along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Hol Chan has been a marine reserve since May 2, 1987, and covers almost 7 square miles (18 square kilometers). Some areas are only about 5 feet (around 1.5 meters) deep, while the channel is about 30 feet (just over 9 meters) deep. A scuba diving or snorkeling session where you’ll swim alongside turtles, octopus, parrotfish and nurse sharks. Then, we’ll move on to the Shark Ray Alley reserve, where nurse sharks and stingrays abound.
