My wife and I attended the 7 PM Whirling Dervish show at Hodjapasha. 🇹🇷❤️ As Muslims, we found it fascinating to witness the Sufi tradition and the spiritual significance behind the Sema ceremony.
The 1-hour performance combines traditional music, chanting, and mesmerizing whirling. 🌀🎶 The stamina required to spin for so long is incredible—huge respect! 👏
One suggestion: Displaying English translations of the devotional poetry on the projector would really help international visitors connect with the deep meaning behind the chanting.
🎟️ Tips for visiting:
📵 No photos or videos allowed—just be present and enjoy the moment!
💧 Complimentary water is provided.
⏱️ Book online to skip the queue and arrive 10-15 mins early to settle in.

The Whirling Dervishes performance is a unique Turkish experience that's definitely worth seeing. Arriving about 10 minutes before the show starts is usually sufficient. Outside the venue, there's historical information available, which can help you better understand and appreciate the ceremony as it unfolds.

exhibit at the show lobby was insightful. the cultural performance was beautifully hypnotic. so is the live music played on traditional instruments. singers were authentic. audience were seated around and close to the circular performance floor. recommended to those who wants to experience the mevlevi seam & whirling dervish rituals.
