West Coast Wildlife Centre Admission Ticket

An indoor attraction on the west coast where you can see two kiwis running around in the dark, but you can only experience it yourself because you can't take photos to share

Visited the West Coast Wildlife Centre as it was literally just across our Airbnb and really enjoyed seeing kiwi and little blue penguins up close—something you rarely get to do in the wild. The penguins were especially fun to watch, and it’s nice knowing the centre focuses on conservation and caring for injured animals. a worthwhile and unique stop if you’re in Franz Josef.

The main focus of this place is seeing the kiwi bird. To see one kiwi bird, you need to pay about $30 per person, which is actually very expensive. The whole experience took about 20 minutes to complete. So, $30 for 20 minutes is expensive. I probably will not be going again.

saw some kiwis and tuatara, good wet weather option for Franz Josef since our helihike got cancelled. learnt a lot from the tour!

the centre is very small but it is a great choice to visit for rainy days. the day was raining heavily so we decided to go to see kiwi bird at the center. there’re only two kiwi birds but the exhibition is quite educational and informative

it was an informative tour. redemption of tix was quick and easy. the tour is short but you can go back within 48 hrs just in case the animals were not active whilst you were there. the kiwis were very active when i went at 9 but the lizards were sleeping and was told they would wake in the afternoon. very nicely stocked giftshop too

The tickets are valid for two days, so you can return as many times as you like within that period to see the adorable animals! It was my first time seeing little blue penguins, and they were unlike any I'd seen before. The staff were incredibly friendly and happy to answer any questions. I didn't get any photos inside, so I'm sharing some pictures of Kiwi Park with everyone instead. 🙏

it was an excellent tour, with a lot of new information regarding Kiwis, tuatara and other new zealand baseball animals such as Bluetooth pinguines. If you are at the Franz Joseph glacier is worth to try .
