What to expect
Upon arrival guests are welcomed into the Truffle Hunting Lodge and offered truffle champagne cocktails and an introduction to RedGround and an informal relaxing chat on what they will experience over the next two days as well as answer any questions they might have.
Guests are then shown to their private guesthouse (in winter and other times when the weather is cold, the roaring log fire is burning inside for a lovely warm welcome). A brimming basket of local produce and local wine for your 2-night stay will be front and centre when you walk in. Depending on your preference, you’ll find some red or white wine as well as a few breakfast favourites.
Dinner will be at your leisure with plenty of options a 5-minute drive into town. Enjoy a lovely sunrise and sunset as well as stargazing in the evening with clear views and no light pollution. Sit back and enjoy the views whilst sitting on the deck.
The next day, meet for the private truffle hunt. Your experience goes for approximately 3 hours and includes truffle hunting with trained dogs Sarge and Scout, truffle tasting by the fire and learn how to cook with this aromatic delicacy. If you’re interested in another activity you can be booked in to a visit to Mayfield Gardens (10 minutes drive) or Jenolan Caves (25 minutes drive) othwesise you can sit back and relax in the guesthouse to spot kangaroos grazing on the grass nearby. Enjoy free Wi-Fi, Foxtel and Netflix on the flatscreen smart TV as well as binoculars for the self-guided walk over the farm through the eucalyptus trees for some bird watching.
Guests can park undercover and charge their electric vehicle if required for free too.
