Lovely romantic escape. Loved the hot tub on the balcony. Warm welcome from staff and booked in for dinner at check in. Large room with fireplace and heat pump. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic
Absolutely beautiful hotel in gorgeous location. Dinner in their restaurant was delicious. Room is spacious and perfect for a romantic get away or with family. We went out late at night and walked down the drive to look at the stars and milky way- spectacular!!! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Great stay, really enjoyed the setting, with a very big room and outlook to the mountains. Nice to have the gas fire in the room too. Easy drive into Hanmer. Will stay here again.

Wow such a treat having a massive spa bath in our room plus a spa pool on our terrace. The room was huge & very quiet. Maybe the gardens could have been a little more maintained to take advantage of the beautiful snow capped mountains. The restaurant was a little large & stark and kind of felt out of place compared to the intimacy of the rest of the property.

Large suite rooms, spa pool outside definately a plus. They could have installed shrub bushes instead of large trees in the view point - this would be a plus so when you are in the spa you have uninteruppted views, but still some privacy. The lodge is definately showing it's age, a renovation could help lift the property even further, staff hours for restaurant and check in were odd, this could also elevate the property. Overall was very happy with the stay, the breakfast was good, the dinner in the restaurant was also great, but there could be some work done on improving the ambiance in the restaurant area (dimming lights, lights in the grass / garden area at night instead of having nothing to see but a blind. Given this lodge mainly caters to couples, this could help.

Spa outside has a cleaning button we put it on to try and clean it to keep the water clean but it made it smell funny along with a scum line and water went pretty yuck! probably would of been good to know not to use the cleaning setting on it, just hope it gets cleaned before every guest comes in and refilled. Next time would love to have a hoes to keep it topped up. Other than that everything was amazing!!
