Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was fine, just small and no real place to put your luggage. Wish they would totally enclose the shower so water spray would not go everywhere. The small deck we had was nice to sit in the morning and have a snack. Rooftop deck was nice, but a limited view of the Acropolis. Unfortunately not that great of a neighborhood, as we did some walking around and even though the hotel is across the street from a police station, the streets around unfortunately have a lot of people shooting up on drugs. Not that any of them bothered us, just seemed a little bit more unsafe.

I booked this hotel the day before I travelled because my pre-booked hotel had a power failure. I had little time to investigate the Max Brown. No disrespect is intended to the staff. We spoke to a succession of young people whose role would appear to be making excuses. Basically this hotel is advertising facilities it doesn't have. Here's the list: Hot tub on roof. Not functioning. Gym: A lot of parts of equipment missing. Not very clean. Coffee in room. - No Slippers in room - No Bar on ground floor- No it's just a space. Breakfast on ground floor. - Well no it's actually on the first floor, opposite the dirty gym. Breakfast is of very limited choices of poorest quality meats, cheese and bread. The much vaunted record player in room. - Doesn't work. Shower cubicle reminded flooded for hours after use. Very dangerous. Towels were old and hard. Had to plead for a hairdryer. A number of lamps not working. Important: we stayed four nights- room not serviced , just towels. In summary my advice to potential guests is forget about this hotel. I will be very disappointed if Hotels.com continue to advertise it.

Stayed for 2 nights after a cruise. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with a small room with no place for luggage. The washroom is quite big with a large shower and a door. The decor is very retro with a record player but not necessary. The room has no closet so we didn't unpack anything. There is a small fridge but didn't get too cold. The air conditioning worked great. The bed was firm with really large pillows?. Not conventional pillows. The optional breakfast was not great. A greek salad isn't my idea of breakfast. They had bread to toast, with jam and butter, croissants and a sweet bun. Not worth in my opinion the 8 euros they were asking. They do offer free coffee and water which is a nice feature. Next door is a bakery that did a great omelette breakfast for 6 euros. The staff were great and informative. The rooftop patio was a nice place in the evening to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the hot tub, roof bar and the bar in the lounge were not functioning. The hotel was recently sold and permits aren't in place yet. Convenient walk to Monastiraki square, Plaka, various ruins, Parliament buildings and to the Acropolis.

Very good location. Nice clean hotel. Breakfast is lovely. The Internet was down on the last day but that's not the hotels fault. Thomas and George were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed my stay, incredibly comfy bed however the mattress wasn’t very clean. The hotel kindly upgraded us when we arrived, no reason just generosity. Although the rooftop bar isn’t open, the rooftop was a lovely place to relax, and you can bring outdoor food and drink in (and use the hot tub if you wish). Breakfast was not included however we paid for it each morning as there was a lovely selection of continental buffet options. Staff were extremely lovely and helpful, especially Irene. Coffee was free to all as they had an instant machine in the lounge that was accessible to all, however would have been nice if the sugar and tea bags were left out all the time too. The surrounding area was pleasant, there is a police station nearby that helps with the safety aspect, overall felt safe in the local area. A great location for the metro and for walking to local sites. Would definitely stay here again, thank you.
