Good
The carpet in our room was terribly stained. The chair at the desk had all the plastic rubbed/torn off. The window sills had not been dusted and the housekeeper told us that when a guest checks out they just wash the coffee mugs with their hands and replace them. (Gross) I would not stay there again.

Fantastic
Everything we need is in the hotel especially with the toddler. We had a problem with the door card like 5 times before it work but the front desk are so kind and happy people, that i don't mind waiting to worked its magic lol. We love it cuz we compared it with our families hotel ours are free reserved parking and hot breakfast(hot drink the whole day and surprise yummy snacks in the afternoon).

Fantastic
Charming historic building in Niagara Falls, NY. Close to the falls and the Canadian border. Friendly, helpful customer service. Great breakfast but starting at 7 am would be better. Delicious cookies and coffee available in the lobby. Comfortable sitting area with a TV located to the right of the bar area. Comfortable, clean rooms and beds. Clean bathroom with free toiletries. Keep in mind that this is a historic building and most of the furnishings are historic. The hotel rooms do need some updating, paint and carpet, but that doesn't detract from its charm. The thing that bothered me the most was occasionally hearing the water going through the pipes on the ceiling. We enjoyed our long weekend celebrating our friend's 80th birthday.

Fantastic
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. It had a big vanity and the shower was nice. All the staff were very helpful and so pleasant . The location is perfect. It is close to everything. The breakfast was also very good.

Fantastic
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel. By far the friendliest and most helpful staff of any hotel that we have ever stayed at. I would definitely stay here again. Short walk to Niagara Falls State Park so the location was perfect for us.

The location of the Giacomo is just perfect for walking to everything! The free secure parking is a great perk. We enjoyed the nice breakfast and very cool bar/lounge on site as well. All of the staff was extremely friendly and attentive to the few issues we did have.

The hotel building looked a bit old but clean. However, the housekeeping was the complete opposite. They came at irregular times and did not clean the floors. Basically, all they did was change the towels, place two water bottles, provide two sets of shampoo and conditioner, and tidy up the bed sheets. They did not touch the bathroom floor or the toilet bowl at all, even though they were dirty. Pieces of plastic bags left on the carpet by the previous guest remained uncleaned until check-out. However, all the hotel staff were very kind, so it wasn't a particularly unpleasant trip.

We were very satisfied during our first stay. The room was very spacious and had a great view of the falls night sky line. Room was super comfortable for sleeping. Staff made their guests a priority. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable. Two suggestions would be coffee availability by 6 am, for early risers and breakfast by 7 am. Over all, we were very happy we chose these accommodations and both recommend a stay and hope to return in the future.

The description and photos were misleading, and the Expedia rating did not accurately reflect this hotel. The property is old and dated. I booked it as a gift for my son and his girlfriend’s three-year anniversary, but it was a major disappointment. As soon as they entered the room, it was clear it had not been updated. The wallpaper was peeling, paint flaked from the ceiling throughout the night and fell onto their pillows, the shower floor was dirty, and the desk chair was ripped. When they asked to switch rooms, the hotel was fully booked and could not accommodate them. I do want to acknowledge that the front desk staff were kind and pleasant. Unfortunately, they had to stay for one night of the three-night booking before leaving. The hotel applied one night stay to the bill, crediting Expedia for the remaining 2 nights. Getting the refund through Expedia was also difficult. After several chats and assurances that the credit would be processed, I received an email saying Expedia could not contact the hotel and that no credit would be issued. After one very long phone call and a 15-minute hold while Expedia contacted the hotel, I finally received confirmation that a credit would be issued. I still lost the booking fee in the process. Expedia did provide a reward for the inconvenience, but I will think twice before paying Expedia upfront for future bookings.
