Great

Solo stay

Such a cute place, with tons of character! Old hardwood flooring, smells like an old school or library. Soothing. There's a bar on the first floor with live music; I definitely would have sat in on the blues performance that I heard on my way out one night, but my visit wasn't for my entertainment. There's also a rooftop bar and a Cuban restaurant, all part of the same building as the hotel - another inviting place I might have visited if I'd had time to indulge. The aromas coming from the restaurant were quite nice, though! The room was large, with a huge sectional sofa and TV in a living area, another TV in the bedroom. B/R closet was also huge, as was the bathroom (with Jacuzzi). The kitchen had a cute little fridge and a microwave. My only complaints: no dish towels/cloths or paper towels to wipe up with, so I used a wash cloth and small towel from the bathroom, and a couple of plates, bowls, and utensils would be appreciated. OH - and instructions for the microwave! I could not get it to set a power level, and all of the other preset buttons I tried did nothing, except for defrost. But I had no idea what units I was supposed to be entering. The bathroom is well-stocked with just about everything a person would need, but I bought some Charmin because I'm particular about TP. The door sticks. The staff is great, the people in the area are friendly and helpful as hell! I really enjoyed my time there, and will try to book a room here again if I have reason to return.

There cleaning crew need to wash the doors and walls off hand and finger prints. The keurig didn’t work and the shower put out nothing but literally scalding water. I was sadly disappointed,

I know it's "historic" but maybe a little maintenance? The door to the room stuck. The tiles in the bathroom were peeling and the tub was stained. When we arrived we found used q-tips in the bathroom and when getting ice from the machine we saw lots of black mold. Also, the fridge was set so cold that everything we put in there froze. Otherwise, a pleasant stay. Right in the downtown area so walkable to lots of restaurants. We enjoyed the bar downstairs (although I don't think they are affiliated with the hotel).

Did not get to experience bar or breakfast, but will go back to hotel. Staff was great and helpful, cuban cafe was very tasty, close to Stetson university.

Really a perfect location at the start of the loop that goes through historic downtown on to beautiful Stetson U. Loved the junior suite with separating door.
