GreatStayed with friends · For friends and family
Stayed at the Olympic Hotel Amsterdam from July 8–13 and had a really pleasant experience overall. The hotel is well kept and clean throughout, and it's about a 10-minute walk to the tram, which gets you into the Centraal area easily. There's an Albert Heijn supermarket right near the tram stop for snacks and drinks, plus several restaurants along the strip nearby.
Breakfast was a highlight great spread every morning and the staff were consistently helpful and polite. The gym was a pleasant surprise too, well-equipped and more than enough for a solid workout. Room views were beautiful at night and peaceful during the day.
A couple of minor downsides: the elevator wait got frustrating during peak times, and the pillows weren't the best (though the bed itself was comfortable).
Overall, a clean, well-located hotel with friendly staff — would recommend, especially if you don't mind a short walk to tram.

Below averageStayed with kids
There were 3 of us staying in a room. There were only towels for 2 people and no slippers. There is also no conditioner in the shower (my wife could not wash her hair). The bathroom was very small. I would not stay here again.

Started off a little rocky because I was not given the room I paid for. I went back to the front desk to inquire about the change and I was questioned about how many people I had with me. I paid for the room with three beds and a view overlooking the canal. I was given a room with one bed and a view overlooking the intersection of the road in front of the hotel. I was told that I was given the room I reserved and that it was only 2 people. One traveler couldn’t make it therefore it was only 2 of us. He said I can show you what you reserved, I politely replied I am well aware of what I reserved. After a little back and forth I was given the room I paid for. The view was amazing and I did get the balloons and candy I paid for to celebrate my birthday. Other than that the stay was great not excellent because of the service. We didn’t use housekeeping for 2 of the days and when we requested it they came but nothing was done they didn’t even change the sheets nor pillow cases. WiFi was good and the breakfast was great.

Fantastic Everything for this hotel was perfect, the only downside is the location far from city attractions and you have to pull your bags for a few min to get to the tram station.
I loved the breakfast there and the view of the restaurant.
I would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel in a great location and very reasonably priced. We found the staff very helpful, and we would definitely return. Two points lead to a slightly lower rating - firstly, the only sideboard surface space in our room was slatted so anything small fell through it. You get used to it after a while but to us this was a silly and frustrating room interior design fault. Secondly, you have to rent bikes from the hotel per calendar day - if you want to hire bikes from 5pm one day until 5pm the next day then you will be charged for two days of hire, they do not apply a 24hour rental concept (as most hotels do in our experience). Overall though, we would certainly recommend the hotel as a good and convenient place to stay in Amsterdam.
