Overall, it was a very nice place. The rooms were not very big, but it was clean and centrally located.
We got there late, but they sent us a code to check in, which made it very simple to get into our room. The only thing was that there was no elevator to the fourth floor so we had to carry our bags up a tiny stairway. But overall a great place to stay.

FantasticStayed with family · For friends and family
We rented 4 rooms for 8 people and we liked that the rooms were exceptionally clean. Each room had a remote control that allowed us to set the AC to the temperature we wanted. Some needed it cold to sleep. We found it conveniently located and found a lot of things close, like a grocery store. There was a refrigerator in each room, so we bought water, soda and snacks. Walking out of the hotel to the right (East) was a lot of things like the Rijksmuseum. We walked to Anne Frank too. Had breakfast at Eggs Benaddicted, which was AMAZING. We highly recommend this hotel. There are steep steps to get inside, but we had no issue with that. Loved this place. Nice people at the front desk.

Good sandwich shop nearby and a small grocery store. Had a small cube refrigerator but no microwave. Coffee machine did not work. Room super small for two Queen beds but it worked. Stairs are super steep but at least there is a small elevator to get the luggage up to the second floor. I don’t know what I’d do if I was on the third floor trying to carry up my luggage. Liked that it had a push button code to get into the hotel and room. We stayed here during the tulip season so it was really expensive for what we got. About $450 a night (and I reserved and paid for it 6 months prior)

The location is what sold us on this hotel. Our room in the basement was very small, it did the job but it was definitely tight for 3. The AC was confusing but I think we got it to work. The elevator does not go to the basement so the stairs with the luggage was rough but the staff helped us bring it up which was very kind. Again, great location in the city and around a lot of good shops and restaurants!

Hotel is old and it shows. Shower is tiny and whole bathroom gets wet when you use it. Cleanliness was ok- clean towels each day and bed made but our decorative bed cover had sense on it, don’t think floor was ever vacuumed as we were stepping in grit on floor each day and shower had all my hair at the bottom after housekeeping came. Basic amenities including a melted hair dryer ( which they did offer to replace but it should not have been left there in the first place). Luggage storage didn’t feel very safe. Although you must be buzzed in and out of hotel luggage was just inside of front door- any other guest could have grabbed my bag
Walks are paper thin but it is an old building and thankfully our neighbours were not too noisy and we faced a courtroom. Overall it’s an ok hotel but not worth the price.
It really is 3 star

Great Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, good value for typical tourist hotel in Amsterdam. Location is ok, between museums and the center. They rent bikes which is great if you can ride.

Below averageStayed with friends
The property was totally mischaracterised at a 3 star! It’s barely a one star, if that! Rooms are incredibly small where you cannot actually fit any luggage properly. The only positive thing about the place is its location and proximity to the old town. It’s not worth the price it advertises as it’s truly misrepresents the actual place. I would avoid it at all costs.

This hotel was a big disappointment. The pictures are very misleading, the rooms do look that way but the common areas are horrendously old, smelly, stained brown carpeted areas and the stairs are a hazard with no railing. The room we had was clean and adequate but the bathroom ehich is newly renovated had a flood damaged door with swollen wood at the nottom and peeling paint plus the light fitting in the shower was either falling out or so badly installed there was a large gap between the ceiling and the fixture
It was just poor standard and yet it was the most expensive hotel we booked because the pictures looked so good and its a great area but we stayed a week at 2 other hotels in the same area and paid much less for far nicer hotels
This was a very disappointing finale to our trip unfortunately.

Room although small was very modern and up to date with amenities and fixtures. Everything worked👍. Loved the coffee machine and great fluffy towels. Had shampoo body wash and lotion👍. However, we called it the tree house room. It was on the 4th floor which is fine but “manual” elevator just went to the third. Stairs are more like ladders and dangerous without luggage so imagine with luggage. Insist on booking a room on the first 3 floors if you’re up there in years. Location is fine and quieter + public transport is fabulous. 2 very small windows to the next roof so forget about any view. Skylight gave it some daylight. It was the most affordable and although it felt like climbing up a tree, we were happy once in the room.
