Take a private day tour to what is arguably Taiwan's most scenic destination, Taroko National Park. Showcasing a diverse range of nature and wildlife: travel from rugged coast, to luscious forest, to the dramatic cliff faces of 19km Taroko Gorge. Delve into the heart of the park at the Swallow Grotto Trail, interspersed with tunnels and the best viewpoint for overlooking the narrowest parting of the gorge, where the river is at its most dramatic. After lunch in scenic Tianxiang, you'll visit the Changchung Shrine (or the Eternal Spring Shrine), a beautiful temple nestled within the hillside, atop a waterfall stream that supposedly never stops running (hence the name of the shrine). Before ending at Qixingtan, famed for its pebble beach and fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean.
Beginning at Fanshuliao Valley, you'll be immediately confronted with the dramatic topography of a hundred-meter gorge cutting through the mountains at this unique canyon. The area is dotted with quaint cottages on riverside farmlands with undulating hill vistas beyond. Shihtiping showcases the best of Taiwan's coastal geology, where sea erosion has smoothed the volcanic rock, forcing it to immerge into layers resembling stone steps. Stop by the beautifully constructed Taroko Bridge before visiting Shihti Harbor, a working fishing village and the gateway to whale and dolphin sightings in Taiwan – so keep your eyes peeled! The tour ends with two of Taiwan's most tranquil spots: Baqi Gazebo and Niushan Huting. Both provide an undisturbed setting for blissful viewpoints across the Pacific coastline and the coastal mountain range, with lush grasslands dotted with aboriginal sculptures and handicrafts.
Begin at Lintian Mountain Forestry Center, a once thriving logging town in lush mountain surrounds that has fallen into abandonment in recent years, but which remains a fascinating place to see the traces of a thriving Chinese cypress timber industry: disused machinery and tools, an old timber railway and Japanese-style architecture from the days of occupation. Continue to the Butterfly Valley where over 30 of the colorful creatures flit between camphor trees, waterfalls, steep valleys and magnificent views. A delicious lunch is provided then a chance to taste the freshest high-quality milk as you sit outdoors at Ruisui Pasture. The tour ends on a sweet note, with a visit to Hualien Sugar Factory. A popular stop to sample all manner of flavored popsicles and ice cream and to visit the neat rows of Japanese-style bungalows built for workers during the Japanese occupation.

What people are saying about Day Trips & Excursions in Hualien
Taroko is breathtakingly beautiful! You should never miss this out when visiting Hualien. Mr. Chou was our Chinese tour guide, it was conducted in full Chinese but we were still fully engaged in the activity because of his support and care to the guests. He asked the locals to translate when important announcements are given. It was a superb tour! They offer buffet for lunch and it was very delicious. Taroko definitely left a mark on us!
Overall I recommended traveller to book this trip.Worth for your money. Thank you to our guide, Mr Pung for everything. He explain about history for all attractions. We booked from Hualien Train Station and he drop us by 5pm as per schedule so we not late to take our train back to Taipei on 6.18pm which already booked online.
I had so much fun with this tour. Taroko Gorge and Hualien were scenically beautiful. Our amazing tour guide Roy provided us some good laughs during the trip and enthusiastically took many photos for us. The trip was very organised and on time as well thanks to the driver. Overall had an awesome experience, I highly recommend.
Roy was hilarious and made this one of the best days of my trip. He was cracking dad jokes and our group couldn't get enough of them. We even wrote down some new material for him as we got dropped off. Each stop included a short stroll, dad-jokes, explanation of some plant, some history, animals, and Roy taking photos for everyone. We saw a "face" spider, so we got "Why did the spider buy a car? To take it for a spin".
Pacing over 8 hours was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. Saw monkeys and squirrels. Don't remember anything about the plants other than now knowing how to check whether they're male/female. Pick up is on the east side of Hualien station and sticking to the right. It wasn't Google-able but someone will WhatsApp you before the tour.
One of the best trip with Klook so far! This place is literally majestic. Although there were some concerns at the beginning since we were forced to take the Chinese tour trip, the tour was nevertheless fun and memorable. Our tour guide was kind enough to try to communicate with us even if he doesn’t know how to speak English. The bilingual tour members helped him and translated for everyone’s benefit. Coming from Ximen, it’ll take around 2 hours and 15 mins (fastest route) when you take the TRA. Costs around 440NTD. Everything about Hualien is really memorable and I encourage everyone who can read this post to book this trip and see it for yourself 😊
We missed the first train to Hualien but after confirmation, the bus provide a mini car to pick up us to first destination to join with the group. The view are great! But you have a good physic cause it takes miles to walk. Nice and very helpfull driver but we had a gap language situation cause he can’t speak english. Luckily, one of member are generous became a tour guide for the group because he can speak Mandarin and English fluently and very passion explained the spot for the rest of the group.
