Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour from Seoul

4.5 3,156 reviews | 30K+ Booked
This is a tour to take you deep into the Demiliratized Zone (DMZ), just a few miles from North Korean territory, to discover more about Korea's turbulent past. Despite its name, the DMZ is the area between two of the most heavily armed frontiers on earth. This no man's land is remarkably safe for tourists (and even world leaders) to visit, but is only accessible via group tours. Your guide will relate the fascinating history surrounding the area as you visit historical sites: war relics at Imjingak Park, Freedom Bridge across which almost 13,000 Korean POWs walked to freedom, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel - an invasion route built beneath the border, the DMZ exhibition theater, and views of North Korea from atop the Dora Observatory.

What people are saying about History Tours in Gyeonggi-do

We opt for the Noon Departure Tour because the crowd is lesser in the afternoon. Pickup at our hotel was a breeze, in a mini van with 2 other tourists. Very comfortable ride and an excellent tour guide Soo. Nearing to DMZ, we were transferred to a big coach and checks were performed by military personnel before entering the zone. It was a fantastic experience for my family. Totally enjoyed "snooping" into North Korea, seeing their military personnel at their guard post. Thanks to our tour guide Soo for finding them for us!

Highly recommended trip! The Korean tour guide was very helpful. I missed the bus gathering point but she managed to guide me and finally found me so that I didn’t miss the trip completely. She was very informative, gave us a very good description of DMZ. Visiting DMZ was really an eye opening experience for me. The long tunnel walk, the breathless walk back up from the tunnel was unforgettable for me.

This DMZ tour was one of the highlights of my Trip to Korea. It feels surreal to be able to see North Korea from such a short distance away. Climbing into the tunnels was tiring but worth it. Would definitely recommend! Pick up points were easy to locate and the tour guide was friendly and detailed too.

This was a very cool experience! a peek into the DMZ, a very good experience for anyone who’s curious about the divide between North and South Korea. Just a reminder to bring your passport there and it’s needed to identify you. Just a pity that we were so engrossed reading everything about the DMZ that we totally missed out on capturing anything!
